CST 349 - Week 8 Learning Journal
Part 1: Review Other Team's Final Video Projects
Group 3 - Web Weavers:
Long Presentation: https://youtu.be/EUv2vh-8NFg
Short Presentation: https://youtu.be/qOHv2pQNABQ
The presentation on SB53, California's AI safety Bill, provided solid coverage of the topic by clearly explaining the scope of legislation, its focus on larger AI models, and the requirement for developers to disclose their safety practices and incident response. For the shorter video the graphics used were friendly for the general public and especially children and the video was informative to the point that needed to be addressed. For the longer video, the presentation shows how throughly the topic was researched and covered the main areas for this topic. Both videos showed how well the work was evenly distributed by the voice changes throughout the video. Overall the team addressed the topic and were informative as well as made it engaging to learn.

Short Presentation: https://youtu.be/0DJxwiSEHjY
The presentations on DeepFakes and AI-generated content were well covered, both the technical and the general public versions effectively highlighted the ethical, social and technological implications of this rapidly evolving trend. The clarity was delivered strong, however I did find the background music a bit distracting and it made it difficult to hear the presenters. The research quality was evident, and the teammates worked and distributed the work well. The formal presentation showed the thoroughness of research that was put into the video with the different topics covered such as ways to view AI, cybersecurity. The diagrams and graphics in the video were thought out and placed well especially in the general public video. Overall the videos were effective and well researched.

Long Presentation: https://youtu.be/OdkkDc02Ktk?si=dihJHXxCwBZz8Zbx
Short Presentation: https://youtu.be/jWQoO-hBeQc
The short video is an interactive video. The slides had information that should be covered for this topic and viewers had to read through them. The audio was music. The team made the slides in such a way that it seemed like an Ad which is a clever way to present the topic to the general public. The long video was informative and the graphics in the video matched the audio. The presentation presented the ethics of algorithmic decision-making. It showed great examples of the topic. It was difficult to tell if the work by the team members was evenly distributive since it was an AI voice over (assumption because it sounded like AI). The video was engaging.

Our team communicated efficiently. Our main form of communication was through Slack. We were able to decide on a topic and we picked certain sections of our topic that we had to cover. We were able to create our own portions of the video and then combine them for the final video. We had set a deadline for our individual parts before coming together as a group to make sure everything flowed and worked throughly. We had our weekly check-ins throughout the project which helped keep everyone on track. One thing we could improve on for next time is setting earlier deadlines for drafts so we have more time for feedback and revision.
